Two traditions
Professional hockey is a violent, intense sport. Competition is fierce. Yet after the final game of a series, the teams form a handshake line. Respect is shown. Amends are made.
It’s not the same in the MLB. Baseball players don’t shake hands with their opponents after a win — they line up to celebrate with their own teammates.
Why?
It’s not a difference in professionalism. It’s a difference in tradition.

Culture is slowly shaped by repeated choices that become established norms.
The traditions we form today become the culture we inherit tomorrow.
