What is Savenwood?

\ sav-en-wood \  It's a website and blog. It's a developing idea. It's a place for me to document my creative efforts. A place to articulate some of my interests and generative capabilities. A place to share my thoughts. A place to use sentence fragments with impunity.

Design & Build

RESIDENTIAL / BUSINESS

I build bookcases, shelves, cabinets, and built-ins. I admittedly love wainscot. For personal projects, I lean toward designs with a Shaker aesthetic – but there are a lot of options on the table.

Consult

STRATEGIC / VISUAL

Can I put a pool here? Where can I store cookbooks? Will a mural look good? What color works? How do I cut this? How do I make that? Can I see it in SketchUp? I listen. I bring ideas to the table. Together, we solve problems.

DRAWING / PAINTING / SCULPTURE

I'm formally trained in fine arts. If that's of interest to you, take a peek at some work from my portfolio. I have used a variety of materials to explore a broad range of topics. Check out the gallery page to see some examples.

A Daily Blog

I’ve been writing a daily blog since August 2018. In calendar months, it doesn’t all that long. But day by day, it adds up. Drip, drip, drip. It’s a practice in shipping creatively, and a practice in discipline. They’re short posts. Observations. Thoughts about how we interact. How we live. I hope you’ll take a look. You can read the most recent posts here.
